So, I made a bit of a mistake. I assumed I’d be able to type up my notes quickly, but I honestly took a lot more than I thought I did. As a result, in order to be able to have time to do other things, I’ll be taking a few days to type up the notes. Because I don’t want to wait forever to post anything, I’ve uploaded what I have so far. It’s right here.
I’ll be adding all of the panelist names to the write ups when I get to the end. For now, I want to make sure to mention the two panelists I learned the most from: Michael A Stackpole and Peter Orullian.
Stackpole has been a hero of mine since I read the first Rogue Squadron book, and his work I, Jedi forms the way I think of the Jedi, instead of the umm… stuff that was presented in Episodes 1-3. His panel on story was the highlight of my ECCC 2015 experience, and getting to meet him in person was awesome.
Peter Orullian was honestly unknown to me prior to meeting him in the panel on Heavy Metal Fantasy, but I learned a ton from him about Heavy Metal, Fantasy, and how the two intersect. He said a lot of things that floated around formless in the back of my mind for a long time, and even more that I didn’t know about before. I’m really looking forward to reading his works.
Well, that’s all for now. I have some writing to do before I get too tired.
